Top 5 Foods for Gorgeous Hair and Healthy Skin

The average American woman spends $350 a year (at minimum) on hair and make-up products.  But what's the real secret to gorgeous hair and healthy glowing skin?  It's not what's in your make-up bag honey, its in your diet and what you eat!

Here are my top 5 SuperFoods for Gorgeous Hair and Healthy Glowing Skin:

1.  Blueberries:  Blueberries are rich in antioxidants and protect you from premature aging.   My grandmother, age 83, has the most amazing wrinkle free skin and attributes that to her diet.  Guess what?  She eats blueberries just about everyday!

2.  Salmon:  Wild Salmon is rich in Omega 3's which keeps your skin moisturized from the inside out and supple to the touch.    The omega-3 fatty acids in fish and fish oil is associated with providing nutrients and proteins to the hair follicles, which can support healthy hair growth, prevent hair loss and add shine and luster to hair. Salmon also contains the mineral selenium, which protects the skin from sun exposure.  Also, the vitamin D in salmon keeps your bones and teeth strong and healthy.  If you can't eat fish everyday, you can take fish oil supplements, but be sure to do your research as all fish oil pills are not created equal!  I'll post on that soon!   (NOTE:  be sure its WILD salmon -NOT- FARM RAISED Salmon.)

3. Grapes: Grapes are another antioxidant rich fruit. The results of eating a handful of grapes a day or fresh pressed grape juice can result is supple, glowing skin, moisturized from within.

4.  Watercress:  Watercress contains minerals and vitamins including A, C, Iron, Zinc, Sulfur to help strong nails and healthy hair.  Be mindful not to eat watercress in excess or if you are pregnant or have thyroid problems. When purchasing, opt for the ones from a local farmer or seller who keeps the roots in water until time of purchase.

5.  Sweet Potatoes:  This superfood is packed with beta-carotene, an antioxidant that fights aging.  In addition, the beta-carotene is good for building strong hair. Need a good recipe?  Click here for my Homemade Sweet potatoes fries Recipe.

Straight Frizz Free Hair? Living Proof. Full No Frizz Styling Creme

Living Proof Straight Making No Frizz Styling Cream Review:

Are you a frizzy hair gal or guy?  then read on...

Although this product is NOT all natural, I love using this product when I want to wear my hair straight! It does just what it says.  It truly straightens my hair and eliminates frizz and does not leave my hair heavy.  It is perfect for year round humid climates or spring and summer styling when the April showers are in full effect or when the heat and humidity in the summer takes over.

MY PROCESS:  I simply use a small amount on damp hair just before I blow-dry.   It even works well if you plan to do a roller set to achieve ocean waves or curls.  NO FRIZZ!

It is silicone-free and oil-free so it will not weight down your hair.  It DOES contain alcohol, but it is a high quality grade (there is a difference thanks to info received from a hair stylist).

tata.....

Do you like this product?  Have you tried it?

Valentine's Day shoes, sort of, by Christian Dior!

How cute are these Christian Dior Tahiti Espadrille Pump's?

Retails at $1,550.00

These to die for sandals were seen on the Christian Dior 2011 Spring runway.  I think these would be great for resort wear and early spring.  The style is flirty, not to be taken to seriously and the splash of colors gives much versatility!

Details include Lizard-embossed calfskin d'Orsay with topstitched detailing features canvas laces that tie around the ankle. Basketweave-capped square toe sits on 3/4" stacked, mixed-media platform.  4 3/4" basketwoven heel.

How to Pack Your Make-up Bag for the Gym

Are you one of the people that likes to get a workout in the morning and then head to work?  Do you prefer to workout in the evening and then head to another obligation?  -OR-  Do you work out on Saturdays and then leave straight from the gym to run errands or attend your Saturday events?  I've done all of these! Either way, you need to be post-gym fly right!?  Right!

Here are a few tips on how to pack a quick make-up bag for the Gym for all the Medium Maintenance Gals:

MEDIUM MAINTENANCE GYM MAKEUP BAG
Facial wipes, refresher, mini-mascara, mini-eyeliner, eyebrow pencil, almond oil, blush, Juicy Tube or lipstick

STEP 1Facial wipes.  These great disposable wipes come  in really handy at the gym!  If you read my previous post on washing your face before your exercise, you should always wash your face BEFORE you work out to remove any make-up so your pores can breath.  After your workout, you should wipe your face with a facial wipe and finish with a cold splash to close pores.
Yes To Cucumbers Face Cleanser Towelettes - 30ct.

STEP 2Caudalie Beauty Elixir.  This will give your face a great refresher!  Spritz this on your face for a nice refresh!
Caudalie Beauty Elixir 1 fl oz (30 ml)

STEP 3.  If you wear foundation, get a separate miniature travel tube and put some of your foundation in there so you don't have to bring your whole bottle.

STEP 4.  Eyebrow Pencil.  If you like to fill in or darken your eyebrows, bring this!  I use an eyebrow pencil by Maybeline called Define-a-Brow all the time and is a great alternative to a full eyebrow fill kit.
Maybelline Define-A-Brow - Dark Brown

STEP 5:  Eyeliner and Mascara.  Get a miniature of your favorite eyeliner and Mascara (I just got the FREE GIFT SET from Lancome and it includes a mini mascara with a full brush and a mini eyeliner.)  Also Sephora sells a lot of mini sets!

STEP 6. Blush!  blush adds the perfect feminine finish to any made-up face.   I like the little pods from Mac as they are easy to carry and last a long time!

PS  If you are a "LESS IS MORE" type, the you should skip the foundation STEP.

What's your staple make-up bag item?

Find That Outfit! Who is She Wearing?

Seriously, how FAB is this samurai print dress by Alexander McQueen, worn recently by Kim Kardashian at the Prince Concert in Madison Square Gardens!  Kim, Hollywood's queen of dresses, is no stranger to this designer.

This samurai print dress is by Alexander McQueen and is so lovely!

apx. $1300
Here is the sleeveless version of the dress:

She paired it with these ever so fabulous suede Christian Louboutin's, Boulima Exclusive d'Orsay shoes.  While these shoes are GREAT.. it was an under statement to the GORGE dress!

My Vote:  EPIC WIN!

My First Week On Twitter! Reviewed

Hi Dolls and Kens!

So after an amazing State Of The Union Address by none other then the President of the United States, President Barack Obama, his speech inspired me to take full advantage of this social networking era that we live in and take it one step further. Now, while I've been talking about making a SN move for some reason, while watching the speech, I felt somewhat compelled to sign up and realized that I wanted to "Get in on the Conversation" to see what others thought of the speech. Subliminal Message? hummmm... not sure, but to my surprise, just 3 days later, I ran into a good friend of mine, and she joined Twitter the same day that I did and was ALSO inspired by President Barack Obama's State of the Union address. Anyone else?

Well, I already Blog, have a Facebook Page, LinkedIn account, tried fourSquare and am a member at Chictopia etc.  But what was missing?  TWITTER!
With its catchy simplistic approach, it allows users in 140 characters or less, to creatively express their thoughts or sentiments, promote their interest, events or business and even blast others.  Twitter allows people to connect in a way that we've never seen the likes of before.  Instantly with no fillers or fluff, it speaks to the animalistic inquisitive nature in us to know whats going on with others and somehow allows us to feel relevant that others want to know whats going on with us, which can be achieved in one simple word:  FOLLOW--ERS or --ING

With its FREE WILL approach, you get a glimpse into the thoughts of others without their approval or acceptance as a "Friend" or "Colleague".  Talk about #transparency right? (the # sign in front of the word is a Twitter thing...)

THE VERDICT:  Anyway, in light of ALL of that... simply put... so far... I LOVE TWITTER! or in Twitter lango:  #ilovetwitter.  Not sure why, there is no real rhyme or reason to it, I have a small amount of those that I am "Following" or "Followers" so far, but it's just fun to have an outlet to speech out loud (through typing of course) whenever I want, however I want, without being judged.  I can express my thoughts or promote my brand!  If people respond.. positive or negative, your words INSTANTLY become relevant.    interesting...

Do you Twitter?
What's the next step for Social Networking?  Will it crash and burn or live strong?
